The Payroll & Benefits Specialist will own the payroll process and benefits administration for our growing team. We are looking for someone to help take over the payroll process to ensure all onboarded employees’ payroll is processed accordingly. We also have to manage our increasing seasonal hiring needs, which requires additional attention throughout parts of the year.
You will report to the VP of Finance. This is a US-based remote-friendly role.
You Will:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, finding opportunities for efficiency in addressing our seasonal needs
- Administer HealthSherpa’s benefits and 401(k) plan, including all documentation and maintenance of benefits records
- Ensure compliance for taxes, state unemployment, and other required workforce related items
- Manage compliance processes such as W2, 1095 distribution, ACA, EEO-1 reporting, etc.
You Have:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience independently administering employee payroll, benefits and 401(k)
- Experience working with large (100+) non-exempt workforce
- Experience managing payroll/benefits compliance in multiple states; California proficiency required
- Experience and comfort in collaborating with People Ops around Federal and State Employment Law
- Experience with payroll platforms (Gusto would be great!)
- Startup experience not required, but you do get bonus points
