Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of work experience including experience conducting research about people in an academic or business setting.
• Experience using business or survey data to conduct statistical analyses (e.g., correlation, regression, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience using SQL to query/manipulate data and R to conduct statistical analyses.
• Exceptional written and oral communications skills, including ability to distill and communicate insights to senior leadership.
• Demonstrated internal consulting, client management, and project management skills in matrixed organizational environments.
• Background in Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Sociology, Behavioral Economics, African American Studies (or other demographic-related study field), a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Analytics team uses data to set, execute, and measure progress on Google’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.

You will be a People Analyst who partners closely with the LEAD team (Google’s DEI organization) to ensure our company-wide commitments to equity are rooted in and supported by data. You will work to understand our data landscape, learn Google’s equity strategy, develop testable hypotheses, and build reporting mechanisms to track progress on our commitments. From conducting deep-dive research to preparing executive-ready dashboards, you will ensure that our equity strategy guides how we’re framing and measuring success on our commitments at every step of the way.

Responsibilities

• Develop testable hypotheses, direct research studies, and conduct advanced business and statistical analyses (including forecasting) to inform Google's equity strategy.
• Architect, develop, and automate data and analytics solutions (including dashboards) that enable action in service of Google’s equity commitments.
• Build effective relationships and serve as a subject matter expert in collaboration with cross-functional teams in People Operations.
• Create compelling narratives and data visualizations to share findings and insights with key stakeholders, including executive leaders.
• Connect disparate ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations, using creative, structured, and analytical thinking.
