As the People Ops Business Partner Lead, you will work directly with the Head of People to deliver a world-class employee experience with team members residing in 10+ states and contractors located in 20+ countries. We are a global team with a remote-first environment looking for the HR Business Partner of our dreams who dares to challenge the traditionally reactive experience of HR. Due to the responsibilities of this role, all applicants must be located in the U.S.
This key hire will play a vital role in supporting and developing our current managers, Directors, C-level executives and future leaders. The right person for this role has a keen eye for compassionately partnering with our team members, navigating and resolving employee relations issues, and proactively managing programs that will develop our team members. As the champion for change management and training and development within the people team, you are focused on putting team members first, building morale, increasing productivity and empowering our department heads to grow and develop their skills while creating consistency within the organization.

How You’ll Fulfill Your Mission
- Build: You will draw on extensive knowledge of HR and people operations to build the foundation of a robust management training and support function. You are independent and proactive in identifying competing priorities and thoughtfully supporting the team simultaneously in owning our management training and new manager development.
- Results: You have a passion for results, and are able to build full-cycle projects (start to finish) and results in a timely manner.
- Train: You’ve run internal leadership development programs and are comfortable building and driving manager training modules. You have a point of view on using common language across managers, department heads, and teams.
- Problem-Solve: You are comfortable navigating and resolving complex employee relations issues. You are an intent listener, ask questions and work hard to gather information to provide informed, supportive feedback and advice. Once issues are resolved, you’re comfortable running post-mortems and clearing conversations to ensure we take in our learnings and clear the air after tackling an issue.
- Coaching: You can provide day to day performance management guidance to people managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) and help provide guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures when needed.
- Learning & Development: An expert in following trends and metrics, you will help to develop, maintain and improve learning and training tools for team members related to talent and career advancement, Career Karma’s business and education materials, and employee training.
- Employee Experience: You deeply empathize with the importance of ensuring that every employee has a first-class experience and you know that it starts with the quality of leadership. Operating like a consultant and coach, you can provide guidance to all employees and managers on employee relations and team dynamics. You’re eager to build, support, and protect an inclusive culture across Career Karma.
- Partner: You can partner with leaders and employees across the organization to anticipate needs and understand Career Karma’s objectives, structure, strengths, and challenges.
- Offboard: You’re familiar with exit interviews and comfortable navigating conversations with departing employees to ensure they have a smooth transition. You’re eager to collect data to better understand feedback and inform on our long-term retention strategies.

- You have 6+ years of experience as a People business partner
- You are a self-starter eager to learn and love finding ways to tweak, improve or rehaul processes that are more efficient and productive (You believe in the work smarter not harder mantra)
- A team player who can act with a sense of urgency, you have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced every changing environment
- You are not a maintainer of the status quo of systems, tooling and processes
- You have worked with industry focused HR technologies like Lever, Rippling, Lattice, and other people centric and performance driven technologies
