We’re growing like never before, and we’re looking for a hands on Head of Talent to join us and support us to the next stage.
The People team is currently in its infancy, with lots of room to shape the future of both People Ops & Talent Aquisition. In the latter, we have been working with several external agents and with our internal recruiting operations associate, Fabiana; we’re now looking at taking matters in house, and that’s where you come onboard.
Initially, your role is going to be a balance of hands-on 360 recruitment and strategic initiatives; over time, you will grow the function and lead your own team, with ample room to shape the way we work. We expect to have a less experienced recruiter in the team by the time you join; and to have completed the first push of growth (from 20 FTE in July 2021 to 55 in February 2022). We expect to onboard approx. 10 more people within March, April and May - allowing you to come in at a relatively quiet time, and have proper time to prepare for the next stage of growth.
Your role is key in shaping the future of Microverse, and we’re looking for someone who’s as passionate as we are about creating global career opportunities, building our brand in a genuine and sustainable way, offering an impeccable candidate experience, and continuously improving all our talent acquisition processes.
📝 Responsibilities
- In short, oversee Talent Acquisition as a whole, while actively sourcing and recruiting.
- Share weekly and monthly reports on defined KPI’s with the Leadership team (we currently pay most attention to Time to Hire, Candidate Experience and Rejection Reasons; we’d like your input on other significative metrics to track).
- Over time, build and lead a team of TA experts.
- Keep our ATS (we use Greenhouse) in spotless condition, by making sure all roles are updated in a timely and consistent fashion.
- Guarantee the best possible Candidate Experience: everyone who gets in touch with Microverse will love the interactions.
- Work with Marketing to create a consistent and friendly brand voice, which will be applied to all job descriptions, email templates and offers.
- Manage our Glassdoor, Linkedin, Angel and any other relevant brand page.
- Find, coordinate and evaluate impact of external agencies and recruiters that support on roles we’re not managing internally.
- Constantly iterate and suggest improvements to internal efficiency, based on own experience and other distributed companies’ best practices.
🎯 Experience & Skills Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a 360 recruiter recruiting and sourcing. This is the ideal role for someone who has already enough talent acquisition experience to be taking the next step in their career, and who has previous experience of coordinating projects and people towards a common goal.
- Experience working in (ideally also leading or coordinating) a team.
- Constantly optimizing for D&I in the hiring process and target locations/backgrouonds.
- Ability to prioritize and drive decisions based on data.
- Experience sourcing for a multitude of roles, including technical (software engineering) talent.
- High level of comfort working in a globally distributed startup environment (previous experience and successful track record preferred!).
- Substantial experience using Greenhouse as an applicant system tracking tool.
- Knowledgeable with LinkedIn Recruiter and similar tools needed for active sourcing
- Experience working remotely and using async tools (we use Twist, Asana, Loom and Notion). Ideally someone who has worked for a globally distributed company pre-pandemic, and is familiar with best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to wear many hats and keeping multiple projects running in parallel.
😍 Ideally, you also...
- Are eager to experiment and learn.
- Are based in Africa, LATAM, or the east coast of the Americas (for max. timezone overlap with the rest of the team).
- Consider yourself to be a global citizen and are passionate about making opportunities more equally distributed around the world.
- Demonstrated passion for the learning and education sector.
- Include the keyword "sunshine" in your cover letter or introduction.
